Taking part in the international presentation of Kazakhstan’s cultural and research projects at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris.
From 17 to 19 October 2017 UNESCO Headquarters in Paris hosted an international programme presenting Kazakh culture and the projects of the Rukhani Zhangyru initiative. The Kazakh Research Institute of Culture took part in preparing the academic content of the programme. One of its central events was an international conference with experts from Kazakhstan, Europe, China, Russia and the United States.
Phase 1
Cultural identity, heritage preservation, modernisation and international cultural dialogue were discussed at UNESCO Headquarters. Andrey Khazbulatov gave a paper titled ‘The cultural code of a nation in the conceptual understanding of Modernisation 3.0’.

Phase 2
The Virtual Map of Kazakhstan, developed by the Kazakh Research Institute of Culture, was presented in Paris — a digital platform of the country’s historical and cultural sites using 3D tours. The project joined the results of heritage research with technologies of digital access.

Phase 3
The Paris programme combined academic discussion with an international presentation of Kazakhstan’s heritage and contemporary culture. The Institute’s projects were shown as instruments of research, preservation and international cultural communication.
