XV Eurasia International Film Festival
Organising Kazakhstan’s largest international film forum, which combined a festival programme with practical tools for developing the film industry.
Project Overview
The XV Eurasia International Film Festival was held in Nur-Sultan from 30 June to 6 July 2019. It was organised by the National Film Support Center, then headed by Andrey Khazbulatov. The festival brought together international and national programmes, professional events and initiatives in international film production.

Phase 1
The international
programme
The main competition featured 12 feature films from Kazakhstan and other countries of Europe and Asia. The festival gathered directors, actors, producers and representatives of the international film industry.
Phase 2
An industry
platform
Alongside the screenings, the festival held professional meetings, masterclasses and pitches of international co-production projects with foreign producers and film companies.
Phase 3
International
cooperation
One practical strand was the development of international film production. A location tour of Kazakhstan was arranged for foreign producers, and the festival was used to build partnerships that bring international projects to the country.
